Consular Report of Death Abroad (CRDA)
Do you need to your Consular Report of Death Abroad (CRDA) Certificate (DS-2060) apostilled? A CRDA is isued by the U.S. Embassy or Consulate upon its receipt of the foreign Death Certificate or finding of death by a local competent authority. You can request a CRDA from the U.S. Embassy website. For additional copies, contact the Passport Services Vital records Office.
A CRDA can only be created at an international U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the country the U.S. citizen died. In order for this document to be apostilled, the CRDA must be issued within the past five years.
PLEASE NOTE - Unfortunately we cannot assist with obtaining Apostilles for CRDAs. The process for CRDA apostilles must be made by the requestor, and the federal government will not permit third parties to be involved.
