TYPES OF DOCUMENTS
Driving Record (DMV)
If you need to have your Driving Record from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in any of the 50 States, including the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), you must:
- Order a Certified Copy directly from the Deparment of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and
- Request the Driving Record is signed by the Issuer (DMV Representative) and notarized.
Please Note - Some States may issue a Driving Record that already has an official signature and may not need notarization. Make sure that you order a Certified Copy directly from the DMV. (i.e. New York's Driving Records are signed by the acting Commissioner and does not require notarization).
If the DMV is unable to provide you with a notarized Driving Record, ask for a signed copy from a DMV Representative.
Once signed and notarized the document(s) can be mailed to our office to be Apostilled. Once we receive your documents, in order to minimize errors and processing time, we verify all documents received from notaries before submitting them to be Apostilled. We will contact you as soon as possible if any errors are encountered and we will instruct you on how they need to be corrected. A Driving Record can only be Apostilled in the State the document was issued, signed, and notarized in.
Obtaining an Apostille can be a complicated process and should not be left to someone who does not understand all of the steps involved. Untrained persons that do not understand all of the requirements for legalization in each country are more likely to make errors, which will severely delay the Apostille process and cost you more money.
Once the original English Driving Record is properly prepared you can mail them to us to be Apostilled. We can also provide Certified Translation Services into the language required by the Country of Designation.
