TYPES OF DOCUMENTS
Transcripts
If you plan to study or work in a foreign country but completed high school, college, or a trade school in the United States, the country that you are transitioning to may request that your academic records be authenticated by the school Registrar before the Apostille is granted. We can assist you in obtaing proper authentication of your Transcripts or other academic documents.
Before we can process your documents, you will need to follow the following guidelines:
1. Contact the School's Registrar
Contact the Registrar from the school that issued the Transcripts and request a Certified Copy. You will need the original or color copy of your Transcript to be signed and notarized. The Registrar will print a new set of Transcripts on special tamper-resitant paper and meet with a Notary Public. If the school does not have a Notary on the premises, you can find a Notary that can travel to the campus to meet with the Registrar. The Notary must follow the proper notarial laws of their State in order for their State office to authenticate the documents.
2. Verify the Document
Once you receive your notarized Transcripts, open the sealed envelope to verify that the Transcripts have been signed and notarized. Do not worry about opening the envelope and breaking the seal because we will open the envelope when we receive it. However, it is important that you:
- Verify the information listed on your Transcripts and address any mistakes before you mail them to us.
- Verify the original signature and printed name of the Registrar is on the Transcripts, as well as the Notary's name, signature, date of notarizatiomn, notarial wording, and notarial stamp.
Please Note - The notarization must be original. Therefore, emailing us signed and notarized Transcripts is not acceptable.
3. Mail us the Documents
Mail the copy of the Certified Transcripts to our office along with other required forms and we will processs your Apostille.
Obtaining an Apostille can be a complicated process and should not be left to someone who does not understand all of the steps involved. Untrained persons that do not understand all of the requirements for legalization in each country are more likely to make errors, which will severely delay the Apostille process and cost you more money.
Once the original English Transcripts is retrieved you can mail them to us to be Apostilled. We can also provide Certified Translation Services into the language required by the Country of Designation.
