In addition, all documents destined for Non-Hague Convention Countries generally requireApostille Certification from both the Secretary of State* and the U.S. Department of State** Before receiving Legalization from the receiving Embassy.
Documents originating from a U.S. Federal Court can receive an Apostille through a two-step process:
- Processing your documents through the U.S. Department of Justice
- Processing your documents through the U.S. Department of State - Office of Authentications**
or alernatively
Receive an Apostille through the Clerk of the Federal Court***
PLEASE NOTE
- ALL documents written in a foreign language that require a U.S. Department of State Authentication must be accompanied by a Certified Translation when presented to the U.S. Department of State.
- We can only assist with documents that originate from the United States.
- If you you need an Apostille inbound to the United States, contact the correct Compentant Authority to assist you in the sending country.
* Some states Apostilles' are issued by the Lieutenant Governor or Secretary of the Commonwealth instead of the Secretary of State.**Some Federal Documents can be Apostilled by the Clerk of the Court (an authorized Competent Authority).
*** The Clerk of a Federal Court is an authorized Designated Compentent Authority.
