WHAT TO EXPECT
Before & During Your Notary
The following is important information you should be aware of before your notarty appointment.
DO NOT SIGN THE DOCUMENT
You must sign the document in the Notary Public's presence.
* PLEASE NOTE - Acknowledgment Certificates are OK to have been signed years ago
COMPLETELY FILL OUT THE DOCUMENT
You must completely fill in all of the blank spaces in the document before the notary arrives. But do not sign. The Notary Public cannot notarize incomplete documents.
* PLEASE NOTE - Incomplete documents before the notary arrives can result in addition charges.
HOW TO COMPLETE THE DOCUMENT?
If you have questions about how to complete the document, contact the person who drafted or requested the document. A Notary Public*is unable to provide legal advice or assistance in drafting and/or completion of document.
EVERY SIGNER MUST BE PRESENT
Every signer must physically appear, be coherrent and present an acceptable identification at the time of notarization.
* PLEASE NOTE - See Below for Acceptable Forms of Identification and/or what to do if you have identification problems.
ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS MUST BE PRESENTED
The original documents must be presented for all Copy Certifications.
*PLEASE NOTE - Vital Records such as Birth, Marriage, Death or Divorce Certifications cannot be notarized.
KNOW WHICH CERTIFICATE YOU NEED
Know which notary certification you need. The Notary Public cannot give you advice on which one to use.
